The award runs for three years from the date of award. We accept applications throughout the year. Successful applicants must demonstrate that they are improving management practices to make the workplace fairer for people and better for the planet.
Who can apply?
- The award is for a ‘workplace’. This is defined as any identifiable place of work, and is not required to be the whole building.
- The applicant can be landlord, tenant or owner occupier but must have responsibility for the management of their workplace.
- The ability to successfully apply for the award is not dictated by the applicant’s resources or capacity. Equally the ability to access resources is taken into account when assessing your performance.

Every applicant pays a £250 non-returnable processing fee. An invoice will be processed which can be paid by BACS or cheque payable to ‘Ethical Property Foundation’. For information on the annual licence fee, please download fairplace award fees.
What to do next
To commence the application process, pay the processing fee using PayPal (or by cheque), download the form onto your desktop and fill it in using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat. Make a ‘final save’ and email us (or post) the form with documentation.
You will need to compile a portfolio of evidence to support your application. Submit all relevant documentation to the Ethical Property Foundation in pdf format with a covering letter clearly setting out which documents, or sections within documents, relate to each of the four core areas.
Your submission will be reviewed by the award judging team, who will contact you with any queries.
Once the judging process is complete, you receive an assessment report with feedback on your application, recommendations for action and confirmation of whether or not you have achieved the award.
